ALBERT RIVER PRESENT

The Albert River catchment covers a total area of 786km² making it the largest tributary of the Logan River. Starting its journey in the World Heritage rainforest of Lamington National Park, the Albert River flows into the City of Logan through Mundoolun, it then meanders through the rural areas of Cedar Creek and Luscombe and the urban areas of Windaroo and Mt Warren Park, before entering the Logan River at Eagleby (11.2 km upstream from its mouth). Predominant land uses along the Albert River include cane and sugar farming as well as livestock grazing.

Approximately one sixth of the Albert River is located within the City of Logan with the larger portion of the river located within the Scenic Rim Regional Council. The Albert River marks the eastern border between City of Gold Coast and Logan City Council.
